تتوقع المنظمة العالمية للأرصاد الجوية أن درجات الحرارة ستسجل في العام الحالي رقما قياسيا لم يحدث في التاريخ المدون، وكانت الثلاثة أعوام الأخيرة شهدت ارتفاعا غير مسبوق لكن العام 2017 سيشهد أيضا نسبة جفاف عالية.
وكانت درجة الحرارة العالية في 2016 تسببت في اشتعال حرائق شديدة في غابات كثيرة في العالم وكلفت شركات التأمين ملايين الدولارات، وحدثت نتيجة تزامن ارتفاع درجات الحرارة مع معدلات جفاف قياسية.
ولم يقف الأمر عند الحرائق فقط فقد ارتفع بفعل الحرارة العالية منسوب المياه في القطب الشمالي وأدى إلى ارتفاع منسوب البحر بسرعة وتدمير الحياة البرية في القطب الشمالي، وأدى التغير المناخي إلى ظاهرة ابيضاض الشعاب المرجانية التي بلغت في الفترة الأخيرة حدا من الصعب معالجته وقال العلماء أنه لا فرصة في التعافي أيضا.
ووفقا لموقع مرصد المستقبل الاماراتي فإن مواطني هاييتي لا يزالون يعانون من الخسائر المميتة التي يمكن أن يتسبب بها الاحترار المناخي إذ أحدث إعصار ماثيو فوضى في جميع أنحاء البلاد، وما زال المواطنون يحاولون أن يرمموا ما خربه الإعصار.
وتشير المقدمات الكارثية إلى أن ارتفاع درجات الحرارة المستمر ستظهر آثاره قريبا جدا، وسنة تلو الأخرى يزداد الامر سوءا فالتغير المناخي يتسارع وتتسارع نتائجه أيضا.
وحسب المنظمة العالمية للأرصاد الجوية فإن درجات الحرارة ارتفعت في العام الماضي 1.1 درجة مئوية مقارنة بما كانت عليه في عصر ما قبل الثورة الصناعية، واستمرت درجات الحرارة العالمية منذ ذلك الوقت بالارتفاع كثيرًا.
وإذا كان البعض يتساءل عن هذه النسبة البسيطة ويرى أن 1.1 درجة مئوية من غير المعقول أن تؤدي إلى كل هذه الكوارث، فإن متوسط درجات الحرارة العالمي خلال العصر الجليدي الاخير كانت حوالي 5 درجات مئوية فقط.
وبالنظر إلى الارقام الحالية يمكن إدراك مدى خطورة التغير وإلى أين سيوصل كوكب الارض في المستقبل.
وذكرت المتحدثة باسم المنظمة العالمية للأرصاد الجوية في مقابلة مع سي بي سي أن العالم يجب أن ينظر للتغير المناخي على محمل الجد والضرورة القصوى وأضافت “علينا أن نضع في اعتبارنا اتفاقية باريس بشأن التغير المناخي، والتي تلزمنا الحفاظ على درجة الحرارة في مجال لا يتجاوز درجتين مئويتين أعلى من الحرارة في المرحلة ما قبل الصناعية، نحن تجاوزنا بالفعل نصف هذا الرقم وهو في الواقع أمر مقلق للغاية”.
