نشر موقع “CNN بالعربية ” تقريرا عن قصة مدينة أوبار الواقعة في سلطنة عمان، وهي القصة التي لم يتوقف عرب الصحراء عن تناقلها على مر العصور.
ووفقا للتقرير، فقد استحوذ لغز أوبار على أذهان المستكشفين وعلماء الآثار، حيث يرجع الباحثين تاريخ بناء هذه المدينة إلى ما قبل 5 آلاف عام.
وقد لعبت قصة مدينة أوبار دوراً بارزاً في الماضي. حيث ظلت طوال قرون أكبر أسرار الشرق الأوسط الغامضة.

وعرض التقرير مقطع فيديو للمصور العماني حسن محمد العوادي، الذي وثقه في زيارته لها أثناء ذهابه في رحلة شبابية إلى منطقة رمال الخذف حتى يستمتع بفعالية تطعيس السيارات.
وقال التقرير إن “العوادي” كان يسعى لأن يجد دليلًا أو مرشدًا سياحيًا، حتى يقدم له نبذة عن تاريخ هذا المكان. في حين لم يكن يعلم من أين سيبدأ بالتصوير تحديدًا، خاصة وأن تلك كانت زيارته الأولى للمكان.
ونصح “العوادي” جميع الأشخاص إلى زيارة المكان، وخاصة خلال فصل الشتاء، أي بين شهري نوفمبر/ تشرين الثاني حتى مارس/ آذار.
يشار إلى أن مدينة “اوبار” تقع في جنوب سلطنة عمان ، في محافظة ظفار، بمنطقة تعرف باسم شصر.
وكان اكتشاف مدينة “أوبار” قد تم بالاستعانة بوكالة الفضاء الأمريكية للتصوير عبر الأقمار الاصطناعية. حيث تم اكتشاف مدينة كاملة دفنت تحت الرمال عام 1991، لتصدّر هذا الخبر الصفحات الأولى حول العالم. وسمي لاحقاً بأحد أهم 10 اكتشافات في العام من قبل العديد من وسائل الإعلام مثل “ديسكفري” و”تايمز” و”نيوزويك”.
آثار تعود إلى 1000 سنة قبل الميلاد ووجد الباحثون آثاراً يعود تاريخها إلى ألف سنة قبل الميلاد. ويبدو أن المدينة كانت محاطة بمخازن لحفظ هذه السلعة الثمينة فيها.
وتبين للعلماء أن أسوار القلعة قد بنيت فوق كهف ضخم من الحجر الكلسي. وقد أدى انهيار الكهف إلى دفن المدينة تحت الرمال.
وأوضح موقع “اكتشف عمان” أن أوبار لعبت في يوم من الأيام دورًا مهمًا كونها مركزًا تجاريًا للبان. كما ورد ذكرها أيضا في روايات “ألف ليلة وليلة”، وهي مجموعة من القصص الشعبية الخاصة بالشرق الأوسط وجنوب آسيا.
