In a harrowing incident that has shaken the Egyptian society, a mother has been accused of ending the lives of her two young daughters. The crime, which took place in the city of “Belbeis” in Egypt’s Sharqia Governorate, involved the mother allegedly suffocating her daughters with a cloth until they passed away.

Details of the Incident

Reports from Egyptian media outlets detail that the crime was committed by a 35-year-old mother. Following the act, the mother attempted to take her own life by cutting a vein in her left hand but was unsuccessful. The tragic event was discovered when local authorities received a distress call about the deaths of two young girls, named Rahma, aged 4, and her sister Habiba, aged 8, in their home in Belbeis.

The mother, who was transported to a hospital for medical attention, reportedly confessed to the crime. She expressed her despair with life and did not want her daughters to endure the hardships she faced. The exact motives behind this heinous act remain unclear.

A Disturbing Trend

This incident comes on the heels of another gruesome crime that took place a few months ago, where a mother was accused of killing, dismembering, and consuming parts of her 5-year-old son. The crime, which was widely discussed under the moniker “The Child-Eater,” initially led many to believe that the mother suffered from a severe mental disorder. However, subsequent investigations revealed that she was mentally sound.
