Exclusive: UAE-Backed Media Cell Led by Palestinian Amin Abed Targets Gaza Resistance
Leaked documents reveal Emirati-led incitement efforts against Gaza's resistance factions, involving media manipulation and digital campaigns.
Watan–Sources have revealed the existence of a UAE-led cell aimed at inciting against Gaza, headed by a Palestinian named Amin Abed. The cell’s objective is to provoke against Palestinian resistance factions amidst Israel’s ongoing war on the Gaza Strip, which has persisted for 18 months.
According to “Emirates Leaks,” the incitement cell operates from the “Emirates Humanitarian City” in Abu Dhabi, exploiting the needs of wounded Palestinians for propaganda and misinformation purposes.
Sources indicate that the cell is led by Palestinian Amin Abed, who appeared in a video dancing on his feet despite claiming to be paralyzed.
UAE-Backed Media Cell Led by Palestinian Amin Abed Incites Against Gaza Resistance
Abed had previously alleged he was severely beaten in the summer of the previous year. Subsequently, his travel to the UAE was coordinated with close monitoring by the Israeli army in September.
At that time, Abed left Gaza through special coordination via the “Kerem Shalom” crossing, controlled by Israel, then to Israel’s Ramon Airport, and finally to the UAE.
Before leaving Gaza, Abed actively incited against resistance factions, promoting Israeli army narratives about these factions using hospitals and medical clinics, thereby justifying Israeli bombings.
The same sources clarified that the Emirati cell, under Abed’s leadership, incites demonstrations against Palestinian resistance factions in Gaza, spreads falsehoods about targeting citizens for expressing opinions, and accuses factions of stealing aid.
The cell operates under orders and financial support from UAE authorities and is supervised by an officer in the Palestinian General Intelligence Service in Ramallah.
Previously leaked documents have exposed systematic UAE-Israel cooperation to distort the image of Palestinian resistance through media platforms managed by joint teams in Abu Dhabi and Tel Aviv.
UAE’s Blinx Media Hub and Digital Operatives Target Palestinian Resistance
These documents reveal that the UAE has funneled tens of millions of dollars to producers and influencers to create media content that tarnishes the resistance’s image, demonizes its leadership, downplays its achievements, and blames it for Israeli destruction and killings in Gaza.
The roles of these producers and influencers on Emirati-Israeli platforms include swaying Palestinian, Arab, and Islamic public opinion against the resistance and promoting normalization with Israel.
At the forefront of these platforms is “blinx,” a digital media project launched in September, based in Dubai, and promoted by Emirati entities as the first “media hub” of its kind in the Middle East.
The “blinx news” platform was launched to support content aligning with shared Emirati-Israeli goals, presented in a news format with substantial funding from Abu Dhabi.
UAE authorities have equipped the “blinx” platform with state-of-the-art studios and extended reality production technologies to simulate the Metaverse. Control rooms are outfitted with advanced live production tools, including AI-enhanced systems for video and data analysis to enrich content.
Content analysis of the platform reveals a focus on inciting against Palestinian resistance, harming the Palestinian cause, and promoting the Israeli army while whitewashing its crimes against Palestinian civilians.
Concurrently, Emirati digital operatives, known as “electronic flies,” have been active for several months, creating numerous fake social media accounts to comment on developments in the ongoing Israeli war on Gaza.
Monitoring these accounts shows a consensus on three main objectives: demonizing Palestinian resistance, supporting Israel, and promoting Abu Dhabi’s alleged humanitarian role in Gaza.
These operatives have intensified campaigns against Palestinian factions by impersonating fake Palestinian identities to sow discord and incite local public opinion in Gaza against the resistance.
The suspicious Emirati activities focus on blaming the resistance for Gaza’s destruction, portraying it as serving only senior officials, and accusing it of stealing humanitarian aid.
