In a startling incident that has been described as “shocking”, a video has emerged showing an Iraqi man kissing the foot of an Iranian individual, who appears to be a religious cleric. The Iraqi man, through this act, intended to offer an apology. As he carried out this gesture, he stated that he was extending an apology in his unique way. He further added that he was conveying his apologies on behalf of every honorable Iraqi to every Iranian.
The Iraqi man emphasized that Iranian visitors had been subjected to insults in Iraq by certain individuals, specifically mentioning media personalities Nizar Al-Faris and Manal Al-Mu’tasim. He felt compelled to apologize in this manner, subsequently kissing the Iranian’s foot and prostrating before him.

A legal case has been initiated against media figures Nizar Al-Faris and Manal Al-Mu’tasim, accusing them of what the lawsuit termed as “mockery and derision” towards the visitors of Imam Hussain. The lawsuit alleges that Nizar Al-Faris posted derogatory remarks on his Facebook page, while Manal Al-Mu’tasim displayed scorn and ridicule towards the visitors and guests of Imam Hussain, especially after a tragic road accident.
It’s worth noting that 18 individuals, a majority of whom were Iranian visitors, recently lost their lives in a severe traffic accident north of the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.
Every year, millions of Shiite visitors travel to Iraq to commemorate the Arbaeen of Imam Hussain. This year, the peak of the ceremonies was observed on the 6th and 7th of September. The city of Karbala, located in central Iraq, witnesses the influx of millions of visitors annually to mark 40 days since the event of Al-Taff, where the third Imam of the Shiites was martyred.
