Cristiano Ronaldo’s Moroccan Refuge Cristiano Ronaldo’s hotel in Morocco, known as “Pestana CR7,” has become a haven for survivors of the devastating earthquake that recently struck the nation, with its epicenter in the Al Haouz region. The earthquake, measuring a magnitude of 6.8 on the Richter scale, resulted in the tragic death of over 2,012 individuals and left 2,059 injured, many of whom are critically wounded. The numbers are expected to rise as rescue operations continue.

As the aftermath of the natural disaster unfolded, people sought shelter wherever they could find it, including Ronaldo’s hotel, as reported by the Spanish newspaper, Marca.

A Four-Star Refuge The “Pestana CR7” in Marrakech is a four-star establishment boasting 174 rooms. It also features a spa, five meeting rooms, a business center, and two restaurants. Irene Seixas, a Spanish citizen, mentioned in a televised interview, “We managed to get a room at Cristiano Ronaldo’s hotel located on the outskirts of Marrakech.”

She further added, “We spent the entire night on the streets. By 7 a.m., we were informed of the possibility to enter the hotel.”

A Recognized Establishment The Pestana CR7 in Marrakech was awarded the “Best New Hotel in Africa” at the 2022 Global Travel Awards for the African continent, as per The Portugal News. The hotel had its grand opening in March 2022.

Reports have previously suggested that Ronaldo had plans for significant tourism projects in Morocco, making this hotel part of his vision.

The recent earthquake is considered the most severe in Morocco in a century, with the nation having experienced a series of earthquakes throughout its history.
