Mohammed Al-Turk’s Desperate Plea: Seeking Assurance Amidst Morocco’s Earthquake Aftermath

A Father's Concern: The Bahraini Producer's Quest for Communication with Daughters Amidst Natural Calamity

Watan- In the wake of Morocco’s recent earthquake, Bahraini producer Mohammed Al-Turk has been consumed with worry, particularly for his daughters, Ghazal and Laila Rose. The artist’s ex-wife, Moroccan singer Dounia Batma, appears to have cut off all forms of communication between Al-Turk and their children.

Al-Turk took to Snapchat, expressing his distress, stating, “God is my trustee. I entrust my daughters, Ghazal and Laila Rose, to Him. May He protect them.” He further pleaded, “God is enough for me, and He is the best trustee. Can someone please reassure me about them?”

Meanwhile, Batma changed her Instagram profile picture to a black image with the words, “Mourning for our deceased. We belong to Allah, and to Him we shall return.” She also advocated for the establishment of a national fund dedicated to the victims and those affected by the earthquake, emphasizing her readiness to contribute.

The Moroccan earthquake’s aftermath continues to unfold, with rescue teams striving to reach all affected areas, especially remote and mountainous regions. The majority of the casualties were reported from mountainous areas, as the quake hit the Greater Atlas Mountains region. The challenging terrain complicates rescue operations, given the ruggedness, vast distances, and difficulty in transporting essential equipment.

Morocco’s Royal Court declared a three-day national mourning period, with flags flying at half-mast on official buildings.
