During her speech, Queen Rania addressed the pressing issue of the West’s double standards towards refugees. She emphasized the stark contrast in support levels for refugees fleeing from Ukraine compared to those escaping conflict in Sudan. The Queen pointed out that while the emergency appeal for Ukraine was funded at 70%, the appeal for Sudan was funded at less than 30%.

Queen Rania also highlighted the rapid advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the potential implications on humanity. She posed a challenge to the tech leaders, questioning the purpose of AI if it cannot evoke genuine empathy. Drawing attention to the marginalized and less privileged, she urged for a more compassionate approach, emphasizing that the right decisions today will shape our future.

Concluding her address, Queen Rania advised leading companies behind these technologies to allocate a portion of their revenues to mitigate their impact and set development boundaries, such as restricting machines’ freedom of expression as a privilege exclusive to humanity.
