Watan – At the Murex d’Or Awards 2023, held at Casino Lebanon on September 17th, Lebanese pop sensation Myriam Fares took to the stage in a daring dress that left little to the imagination. The outfit, which boldly revealed her chest, has since become a hot topic on social media, with fans and critics alike weighing in on her fashion choice.
The Murex d’Or, an annual Lebanese award ceremony that began in 2000, recognizes achievements in the arts not just in Lebanon but across the Arab world. Founded by Drs. Zahi and Fadi Helou, the event has grown in stature over the past 22 years, celebrating various artistic fields, including singing, acting, and directing. The awards are determined by both critics’ opinions and public voting.
During the event, Fares was honored with the title of the “First Lebanese Arab Star to Reach Global Fame,” a testament to her significant impact on the music industry both regionally and internationally.
The red carpet of the Murex d’Or also witnessed other memorable moments. Egyptian actor Mohamed Ramadan reconciled with Lebanese singer Nawal Al Zoghbi on stage, following a recent public disagreement. Ramadan was later awarded the Best Arab Actor for his role in the series “Jaafar Al Umda,” while Al Zoghbi clinched the Best Purposeful Song award for her track “Haflet.”
The Murex d’Or ceremony, over the years, has become more than just an awards show. With its diverse accolades spanning various artistic domains and its blend of critic and audience voting, it stands as a comprehensive festival celebrating the best in Arab entertainment.
