Watan – As weather dynamics evolve in the Mediterranean, concerns about Hurricane Elias’s potential impact on Egypt intensify. The shift from summer to autumn often brings meteorological volatility, highlighting the need for vigilance.

Storm Daniel’s recent devastation in Libya sets the stage for emerging challenges. Now, the Mediterranean faces Hurricane Elias, another meteorological event.

Originating from a low-pressure system in Greece, Elias unleashed unexpected heavy rains, flooding streets. An overarching atmospheric disturbance compounded this situation. While Elias’s impact on certain regions contrasts with the calamity Storm Daniel inflicted on Libya, its effects have primarily been thunderstorms and heavy downpours. Notably, Egypt remains untouched.

Manar Ghanem, a spokesperson for the Egyptian Meteorological Authority, provides a reassuring perspective. She emphasizes Egypt’s resilience against the tumultuous effects of Hurricane Elias and highlights the nation’s stable weather patterns. Ghanem points out the diminishing intensity of the low-pressure system over Greece and its northward movement towards areas like Turkey.

Looking at Egypt’s immediate weather outlook, Ghanem predicts sunnier days due to an upper atmospheric high-pressure influence. This change will lead to a noticeable temperature increase, accompanied by northeastern breezes. As the week progresses, Egypt will welcome milder temperatures, signaling autumn’s arrival.

With the start of the academic year, Egypt will see characteristic autumnal clouds, casting gentle shadows. This change indicates a gradual temperature drop, culminating in a week of pleasant weather. While Cairo’s temperatures might hover around 31°C, other regions might experience light drizzles. Overall, the upcoming days promise a refreshing change from the recent heat, marking a smooth transition into autumn.
