Watan – An explosion occurred, followed by sounds of gunfire, near the “Kizilay” area in the Turkish capital, Ankara, while the police said that the attack occurred in front of the entrance of the General Directorate of Security of the Ministry of Interior, and resulted in the injury of two officers.

In Qaya, one of the terrorists blew himself up, while the security forces were able to neutralize the other.
He also said that the terrorist attack resulted in two police officers being slightly injured in the attack.

From his side, Turkish Justice Minister Yilmaz Tun confirmed the start of an expanded investigation into the terrorist attack on Sunday morning.
In a post on social media, Tunç stated, “I vehemently condemn the terrorist attack. A comprehensive investigation will be conducted in all its aspects, in coordination with the Deputy Chief Prosecutor responsible for the incident.”
He further added, “Turkey’s resolve against terrorism remains unshaken by such attacks. Our commitment to this fight is unwavering.” The General Prosecutor’s Office in Ankara has initiated an inquiry into the incident, as noted by Anadolu.
No group has claimed the attack, but suspicions often fall on the Kurdistan Workers’ Party or ISIS.
Over the years, Turkey has faced numerous attacks. A significant one occurred in Istanbul on November 14, 2022, killing 6 and injuring over 80.
