Netherlands Summons Israeli Ambassador Over Rafah Aid Worker Massacre
Dutch government demands explanation after Israeli forces kill 14 aid workers and a UN staffer in southern Gaza amid ongoing military operations.
Watan-The Netherlands summoned the Israeli ambassador on Tuesday evening in response to the ongoing genocidal war in the Gaza Strip and a recent massacre carried out by the Israeli army in Rafah, southern Gaza, which killed 14 aid workers and an employee of a UN agency.
The Dutch government said in a statement that the reason for summoning the Israeli ambassador (whose name was not mentioned) was related to “the situation in Gaza,” without providing further details.
However, Dutch Foreign Minister Caspar Veldkamp stated, in remarks quoted by the Israeli daily Yedioth Ahronoth, that the ambassador was summoned to provide clarification regarding the killing of aid workers by the Israeli military in Rafah.
In that massacre, Israeli forces killed 14 emergency and civil defense workers, in addition to a UN agency staff member—part of the ongoing genocide Israel has been carrying out against Palestinians for the past 18 months.
