War Crimes Exposed: Accidental Photo Leak Reveals Israeli Army’s Use of Banned Thermobaric Bombs in Gaza

Watan – In a new scandal affirming the commission of war crimes, the Israeli army inadvertently published a photo documenting its use of thermobaric bombs in the war on Gaza.

The Israeli Air Force accidentally posted an image of an Apache helicopter belonging to the army, loaded with these bombs, before later deleting the tweet.

The use of such munitions, internationally banned, was confirmed by the director of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, Iyad Al-Jabri, who reported that the hospital received a large number of child martyrs who showed no external wounds.

Confirmation of Israel’s use of thermal bombs

Al-Jabri explained that these cases resulted from internal organ rupture due to the pressure from the explosions.

Thermobaric bombs, also known as vacuum bombs, are more destructive than conventional explosives of similar size and have a devastating effect on anyone within the blast radius.

The thermobaric bomb, also called an aerosol bomb or fuel-air explosive, consists of a fuel container with two separate explosive charges.

This type of weapon can be launched as a missile or dropped as a bomb from aircraft. Upon reaching its target, the first charge opens the container and disperses a fuel mixture widely in the form of a cloud, which can penetrate any openings or defenses not completely sealed. A second charge then detonates the cloud, resulting in a massive fireball and a huge blast wave, creating a vacuum that sucks in all surrounding oxygen, capable of destroying fortified buildings and equipment and killing or injuring people.

Israel’s use of white phosphorus has also been confirmed by Human Rights Watch, which reported its use by Israeli forces during the war on Gaza and operations in southern Lebanon.

White phosphorus bombs appeared in several videos in Gaza, as well as in two rural sites along the Lebanese-Israeli border.
