Watan-In a scene that reflects great determination and a strong sense of responsibility, a Palestinian doctor refused to accompany his family as they left Gaza and decided to stay in the enclave to fulfill his role in treating the wounded and injured due to the ongoing war launched by the occupying army.
Footage broadcasted by the media showed the doctor wearing his work clothes inside the Rafah crossing as he bid farewell to his family, who were departing for Egypt. His daughter was seen crying while hugging and kissing him, fearing that this might be the last time she sees him, as everyone in Gaza is at risk of martyrdom due to the Israeli airstrikes.
It’s likely that this family has dual citizenship, as this category is the only one allowed to leave the enclave.
The Palestinian doctor spoke about this scene, saying that it’s a very tough feeling, but this situation is better for his family than continuing to endure the ongoing Israeli bombardment. He explained that their departure from Gaza and ensuring their safety would motivate him to focus more on his work, as he was previously forced to move his family from one place to another.

He pointed out that the occupation is mercilessly killing women and children, stressing that the situation in Gaza is as dire as it can be, but the doctor has no choice but to deal with the wounded arriving at the hospital.
He also highlighted that the occupation is waging a brutal war on the Gaza Strip.
33 days of war on Gaza The war on Gaza entered its 33rd day, with intensive airstrikes continuing in the region. The Israeli army has committed massacres in recent hours, specifically in Deir al-Balah and the Maghazi and Beach refugee camps, as well as in the Zeitoon neighborhood.
The number of martyrs since the beginning of the aggression has risen to more than 10,300, and dozens of martyr’s bodies are scattered in the streets of Gaza City, amid warnings of a health catastrophe.
This comes as international and UN organizations have condemned the Israeli forces’ shelling of water tanks, bakeries, and solar panels, warning of depriving Gaza residents of life’s necessities.
In documenting the humanitarian tragedy, the Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, emphasized that Gaza is witnessing an unprecedented catastrophe. He stated that the world seems to have lost its humanity.”
