Just Leave, Netanyahu: Haaretz’s Stern Warning on the High Cost of Continued Leadership
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu

Watan-The Hebrew newspaper “Haaretz” issued a strong warning about the high cost of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s continued leadership in Israel. The headline “Just Leave, Netanyahu” sets the tone for the article published on November 7, 2023, expressing the newspaper’s belief that Israel would pay a steep price for Netanyahu‘s ongoing rule.

The article reflects the growing anger within Israel towards the current government, holding it responsible for the deteriorating situation and losses incurred by the Israeli forces attempting to infiltrate Gaza.

The Israeli occupation has been waging a brutal war against Gaza for 33 consecutive days, with significant human and military losses due to the resistance from the military wing of Hamas, the Al-Qassam Brigades.

“Haaretz” pointed out statements by the Israeli Prime Minister, later retracted, linking the October 7 “Aqsa Flood” operation in Gaza to the reserve soldiers’ announcement of refusing service.

Haaretz: Netanyahu Exposes Israel to Danger

Haaretz highlighted statements attributed to Israeli Prime Minister, later retracted, where he initially linked the ‘Aqsa Deluge’ operation on October 7, targeting the Gaza Strip, to the reserve soldiers’ declaration of refusal to serve.

Haaretz accused Netanyahu of ‘destroying the country and exposing the existential danger to the occupation through his wicked ways of poisoning society and state institutions,’ as described by the newspaper.

The newspaper likened Benjamin Netanyahu to ‘the scorpion in the scorpion and the frog tale, where there is no explanation for his statements in Israel’s most challenging moments.

Netanyahu must go

Regarding its attack on the Prime Minister of the occupation and its call for his departure, Haaretz stated: ‘It seems that 240 hostages did not affect him, and 1400 deaths were not enough. Entire communities were destroyed, and thousands of Israelis became refugees while Netanyahu remained unchanged.

Haaretz added that ‘Netanyahu is only concerned about his own future and thinks only of himself, as always.

The newspaper saw that ‘the behavior of the Prime Minister of the occupation at this difficult time makes matters worse, and we should not get used to this very harmful pattern of behavior in times of war,’ according to its description.

Haaretz called for finding a way to ‘put an end to Netanyahu‘s malicious rule,’ emphasizing that the price Israel will pay for his continued rule is extremely high.

It stated: ‘We must not allow him to stay in power as if it were a divine decree. The political establishment must find a way to put an end to Netanyahu’s malicious rule. The price Israel will pay for his continued rule is extremely high.
