Watan-Mohamed Magdy Kafsha, a player for Egypt’s Al-Ahly, has announced his decision to auction the jersey he wore during the 2020 African Champions League final against traditional rivals Zamalek. The 27-year-old revealed that the auction proceeds will be donated to support Palestine.
In the 2020-2021 African Champions League final, Kafsha showcased his brilliance by scoring the decisive winning goal for Al-Ahly in the 86th minute with a powerful and remarkable shot.
Following Al-Ahly’s recent victory against Ceramica Cleopatra in the Egyptian Premier League last Wednesday, Mohamed Magdy Kafsha stated, “The jersey from the match of the century is the least I can offer to the Palestinian people.”su
The match against Ceramica Cleopatra concluded with a valuable 2-1 victory for Al-Ahly.
The player, Kafsha, added, “This jersey is the most precious in my career, but it is not expensive for the Palestinians, and we stand with them in our hearts. This is a message of solidarity with the Palestinian people and the humanitarian crises they are going through.”
It’s worth noting that Egyptian footballer Ahmed Saeed “Zizo” of Zamalek and his former teammate Tarek Hamed, now playing for Dhamk in Saudi Arabia, had previously announced the auction of their jerseys in support of Gaza amid the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict, now entering its 35th day.
