Watan-Former US Marine Corps Intelligence Officer Scott Ritter launches a scathing attack on the US Congress, asserting that it is ‘occupied by the Zionist lobby that cares little about America and its interests.’
Ritter stated in an interview with the ‘Kim Iversen Show’ on YouTube: ‘The American Congress is controlled by Israel and its affiliated pressure groups, and the Zionists have purchased legislative allegiance from within, not hiding their influence.’
The former intelligence officer supported his statements by pointing out that ‘the new Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson, has not addressed the pressing issues facing the country but instead is seeking more financial support for Israel.
The Israeli Influence on Washington
In addition, officials in Tel Aviv, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, openly boast about their influence on Washington, as mentioned by Ritter.
The former US intelligence officer also criticized a member of Congress who appeared in the uniform of the Israeli army, expressing his displeasure: ‘If Representative Rashida Tlaib from Michigan, who supports Palestine, decided to appear wearing a green headband associated with Hamas, she would have been shot when she approached the Capitol building.’
Ritter added, ‘This is almost as bad as the time when four members of the Azov Battalion were allowed to attend and speak before Congress.’
It is worth noting that the ‘Azov Battalion’ referred to by Ritter is an ultranationalist Ukrainian organization composed of so-called ‘neo-Nazis’ and has been part of the Ukrainian National Guard for years, falling under the jurisdiction of the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs. Its fighters are well-trained, but the group is controversial due to its composition of extreme nationalists and right-wing elements. The presence of this battalion was one of the arguments Russia used to justify its invasion of Ukraine.
The former American officer concluded his remarks by saying, ‘We allowed the Nazis to enter, and we allowed the Zionists to enter. What the hell is happening here?’
It is noteworthy that Scott Ritter previously worked as a weapons inspector for the United Nations in Iraq from 1991 to 1998. He served as Chief Inspector in 14 out of more than 30 inspection missions in which he participated.
Ritter became a prominent voice of opposition in the period leading up to the Iraq War in 2003 and during the invasion, as one of the few analysts who asserted that there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.
Subsequent events proved him right, and thanks to his insight and experience, he became a well-known analyst of American wars and proxy wars, especially the recent Russian invasion of Ukraine
