Watan-A Palestinian elderly woman expressed her love for the spokesperson of the Al-Qassam Brigades, Abu Ubaida, and the determination of the people of Gaza to endure and cling to life despite the ongoing Israeli aggression for more than 37 days. She highlighted the challenges they face, including international silence and complicity.
Al-Jazeera aired a video clip featuring the Palestinian woman expressing herself in the distinctive Palestinian vocal style, saying, ‘Oh brother, Abu Ubaida, I wish you would stay with us and keep the enemies away from us. May God give us strength while you remain with us.
Before following it with the well-known ‘Louloulish,’ a popular tradition in Palestinian heritage.
She added, ‘Abu Ubaida only,’ and emphasized with a challenging tone, ‘If there are only 10 left in Gaza, we will liberate Palestine,’ and continued, ‘We don’t care about food or drink.’
Psychological warfare
The Ministry of Interior in the Gaza Strip, under the control of Hamas, directed Palestinians not to respond to the ‘Israeli propaganda’ and the calls to evacuate their homes, stating that it is part of what they termed a ‘psychological war.’
While a few families left, many others refused to evacuate their homes, declaring in posts on social media that they would not leave. They initiated a hashtag campaign named ‘Not Leaving,’ in what appeared to be an organized effort to affirm their refusal to comply with Israeli warnings
