Palestinian Child Appeals for Treatment in Egypt

Watan-A poignant video of a Palestinian child, injured during Israeli airstrikes in Gaza, has gone viral on social media. The child, now at risk of leg amputation, pleads with doctors not to cut off his legs.

In the widely circulated footage, the ten-year-old lies on a hospital bed in Gaza, urging medical staff to contact Egyptians for treatment instead of resorting to amputation.

Expressing his distress, the child addresses the medical team, saying, “Talk to the Egyptians to treat my legs instead of amputating them.”

In a heartfelt tone, he continues, questioning the necessity of amputation when his legs are in relatively good condition, “Why cut them off when they’re in good shape? Put a bone in so I can walk as I used to.

Tragedy Unfolds in Gaza with Critical Cases

The “Mediterranean Observatory for Human Rights” stated in a press release that its estimates reveal a grim reality for Palestinian children who have become victims of the ongoing Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip for 39 consecutive days. The toll includes fatalities, injuries, and the destruction or damage of their homes.

The human rights observatory specified that among the casualties, 6,220 are children, and 3,412 are women. Additionally, it reported approximately 1,680 children missing. Over 15,500 children have sustained various injuries, with dozens of them in critical condition.

Moreover, dozens have undergone amputations, and hundreds have suffered severe burns in different parts of their bodies. The humanitarian situation in Gaza remains dire, with innocent civilians bearing the brunt of the prolonged conflict.
