Watan-In the face of significant concerns for the lives of patients and the wounded, the Israeli occupation forces have given a one-hour ultimatum for doctors, patients, and displaced individuals to evacuate the Al-Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza.

This urgent development was reported by Al Jazeera, which conducted an interview with Dr. Adnan Al-Barsh, the Head of the Orthopedic Surgery Department at Al-Shifa Hospital, to discuss the details.

Details of the Evacuation Decision

And Al-Barsh stated that they were informed today to evacuate the complex, including all patients, displaced individuals, and medical teams, emphasizing their complete commitment to ensuring the patients’ healthy evacuation.

He added that they currently have no information and no communication with anyone, clarifying that he learned of a contact from the United Nations regarding the evacuation but without confirmation.

Adnan Al-Barsh pointed out that there is a state of fear and panic among everyone in Al-Shifa Complex, including patients whose fate remains unknown.

Al-Barsh affirmed that the medical teams will not leave the hospital without the patients, as they will not abandon them under any circumstances.

Adnan Al-Barsh reported that the Israeli occupation forces notified them of the patients’ evacuation, telling them to “take them with you,” as he expressed it. He confirmed that the occupation forces did not provide guarantees, but they informed them of a safe route. This route starts from Al-Shifa Hospital to Salah al-Din Street and then southwards via Unity Street, the usual path.

He explained that the hospital currently accommodates 650 wounded individuals, 400 medical staff, in addition to thousands of displaced persons. He clarified that evacuating the displaced individuals poses no issue, but the challenge lies with the patients.

Adnan Al-Barsh noted that the most significant challenge involves patients who are unable to move. They will be compelled to evacuate and displace on foot, creating a considerable difficulty in the process.

Patients and Wounded Face Danger

In a related context, Al Jazeera correspondent Hisham Zaqout reported that patients in critical conditions, including those in the intensive care units alongside premature infants and kidney dialysis patients, are all in imminent danger.

He highlighted the urgent need for ambulances to transport these individuals from Al-Shifa Medical Complex to any other location where they can receive medical care.

Zaqout affirmed that the Israeli occupation forces are ordering the besieged individuals in the complex to evacuate without providing a solution to this critical issue.

He explained that the evacuation route extends for more than 25 kilometers, making it impossible for these patients to move on foot. As a result, there is a pressing need for immediate and efficient solutions to ensure the safety and well-being of these vulnerable individuals.
