Silent Injustice: Unveiling Human Rights Violations and Systematic Assassinations of Palestinian Prisoners in Israeli Detention

Watan-The “Prisoners and Liberated Affairs Authority” and the Palestinian Prisoners Club have confirmed that the occupation has assassinated the prisoner Thaer Sameeh Abu Asab (38 years old) from the governorate of Qalqilya in the Negev Desert prison. He has been detained since May 27, 2005, and sentenced to 25 years in prison.

This makes Abu Asab the sixth prisoner martyred by the occupation in its prisons, following the incident on October seventh.

In a statement circulated by Palestinian media, the two organizations said, “In light of this new crime, the assassination of martyr Abu Asab, we affirm that the occupation continues to carry out systematic assassination operations against our prisoners, with premeditation.”

Systematic assassination operations against Palestinian prisoners

The statement emphasized that “what is happening to our prisoners in the occupation’s prisons after October seventh reflects the occupation’s decision to carry out systematic assassination operations against them, through a series of deliberate crimes, including torture and abuse that are carried out against them continuously.”

It continued, “This is evident in all the testimonies we have obtained over the past period, which include horrifying information. Some of them indicate that hundreds of prisoners have been injured due to torture and abuse operations carried out by repressive forces, with the participation of special units from the occupation army.”

The statement highlighted that “the Israeli occupation army deliberately imposes unprecedented isolation on our prisoners to isolate and kill them after October seventh. This is done by obstructing prisoners’ visits by legal teams, either by refusing them or imposing measures aimed at killing the prisoners.”

Martyrs of Tulkarm who rose in the invasion of the camp

According to the “Palestinian Media Center,” several detainees in Israeli occupation prisons have been martyred recently, including the prisoner Abdul Rahman Ahmed Muhammad Mar’i (33 years old) from the town of Qarawat Bani Hassan in Salfit. He was martyred on November 14th in Megiddo Prison, and he had been detained since February 25th of the previous year.
