Palestinian Child Escapes Bombardment Three Times

Watan-Al Jazeera broadcasted poignant footage showcasing the remarkable survival of a Palestinian child who narrowly escaped three instances of Israeli airstrikes in Gaza.

The child is seen at Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza, cradled by a family member. Initially at her family’s home in northern Gaza City, she emerged unharmed, later seeking refuge with relatives just before another strike, miraculously escaping once again.

For the third time, her relative’s house (the person who was carrying her at the hospital) was bombed, but she also survived this bombardment.

Children in Gaza are a striking symbol in the current war being waged by the Israeli occupation.

A significant toll on children among the casualties in Gaza

While the Gaza government’s media office announced on the evening of Sunday the 19th an increase in the death toll from the Israeli war on Gaza to over 13,000, among the casualties are more than 5,500 children and 3,500 women.

According to the government office, the number of injuries in the Israeli war has exceeded 30,000, with more than 75% of them being children and women.

In a related context, the United Nations Population Fund confirmed that approximately 70% of the casualties since the start of the war in Gaza are women and children.

The United Nations Population Fund for Arab States stated in a tweet on its “Ex” platform account: “Palestinian women and children deserve life and are not military targets. Stop the firing now.”

Horrifying shocks experienced by the children of Gaza

In a related context, UNICEF in the Middle East and North Africa region stated that children in the Gaza Strip are facing the shocks of destruction, ongoing attacks, displacement, and severe shortages of food, water, and medicine.

UNICEF, in a tweet on its “Ex” platform account, called for an immediate cessation of fire in Gaza and the sustained and unimpeded delivery of aid.
