Watan-Houthi rebel media, on Wednesday, published a video documenting the visit of the naval commander to the Israeli ship “Galaxy Leader,” which was seized by the Yemeni group days ago in the Red Sea.
On Tuesday, the Houthi group revealed its conditions for releasing the Israeli ship it had taken off the Yemeni coast. Mohammed Ali al-Houthi, a member of the Supreme Political Council in the group, stated on Twitter: “If America and Israel cease killing Palestinians in Gaza, and allow the entry of water, medicine, and food, then they can talk about the Israeli ship.
Houthi Leader Reassures Crew of Kidnapped Israeli Ship
In a recently broadcast video by the Houthi military media, various aspects of the visit by Houthi naval leaders to the Israeli ship were showcased, including an inspection of its foreign crew.
The footage displayed Houthi leaders strolling on the deck of the “Galaxy Leader” ship, whose ownership is linked to an Israeli businessman with close ties to the Mossad. The leaders directed a message to the Israeli occupation, affirming that the ship’s operation was in solidarity with Gaza. They called for an end to the aggressive Israeli attacks on the Palestinian people, stating that if Tel Aviv desired the release of the ship, it should cease its brutal aggression.
In other scenes, the Houthi leaders were seen inspecting the crew of the kidnapped Israeli ship, assuring them of their safety and emphasizing that all their requests would be met throughout the period of their captivity, as shown in the footage.
The Yemeni Houthi group recently broadcast scenes of a military operation that successfully led to the seizure of an Israeli ship in the Red Sea.
The footage revealed a helicopter landing on the ship’s surface, with armed members of the group disembarking to carry out a deployment operation on the vessel. They then stormed the ship’s command room without facing any resistance from the crew.
The United States condemned the Houthi group’s capture of the ship, describing it as a violation of international law and demanding the immediate release of the ship and its crew.
Earlier, Israeli officials insisted that the ship belonged to the British and was operated by the Japanese. However, ownership details in public shipping databases contradicted Israel’s narrative. The data linked the ship’s owners to the company Ray Car Carriers, founded by Abraham “Rami” Ungar, known as one of the wealthiest men in Israel with close ties to Israeli leaders.
Ungar told the Associated Press that he was aware of the incident but could not comment as he awaited further details.
