Watan-“Take both of my eyes and give them to my daughter. These are my daughter’s eyes,” were the poignant and heart-wrenching words of a Palestinian father as he addressed the doctors inside the hospital after his daughter lost her eyes due to the ongoing Israeli war on Gaza, now in its 45th consecutive day.

Palestinian journalist Ismail Abu Omar captured a moving video of a Palestinian father speaking to the doctors in the hospital, expressing his willingness to have his own eyes removed for his daughter, who lost hers when their home was targeted by Israeli forces in Gaza.

“Take both of my eyes and give them to my daughter.”

The father pleaded with the doctors, saying, “Take both of my eyes and give them to my daughter. These are my daughter’s eyes; I don’t want my eyes. This is my daughter.”

Hundreds of Palestinian children have lost limbs, becoming individuals with special needs (disabled), as a result of the ongoing Israeli war on the Gaza Strip.

Moreover, more than 6,000 Palestinian children have lost their lives during the continuous Israeli bombardment in various areas of the Gaza Strip since the war began on October 7th of last year.

Casualties of the Ongoing Israeli War on Gaza

The Israeli occupation has committed over 1,200 massacres against civilians in Gaza, targeting homes, schools, residential areas, and even mosques and churches, with no prior warning to the inhabitants.

More than 13,000 Palestinian citizens have lost their lives during the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, while over 30,000 individuals have sustained various injuries, according to statistics released by the Gaza Government Media Office.
