Watan-All members of her family were martyred in the Israeli occupation’s bombing of their home in one day, leaving that Palestinian girl as the sole survivor. She becomes the sole witness to the crimes and brutality of the occupation against civilians during the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip.
In a video circulated by activists on social media, the Palestinian girl expresses the pain and sorrow of losing her family, who became martyrs in the Israeli bombardment of their home in Gaza. She says, ‘They were all martyred in one day, in a blink of an eye. My entire family is gone.’
‘We are children, what is our fault that we suffer?’ the Palestinian girl continues, crying. ‘All my loved ones were martyred, even my mom was martyred. They (referring to Arab countries) should feel for us. We are children; what is our fault that we suffer? What is our fault?'”
“And she concluded, ‘We have lost our loved ones and lost all our family. What is our fault that we suffer like this?’
‘Hopefully, there will be a ceasefire, and we can return to our home,’ says a Palestinian girl, expressing her wish for an end to the Israeli war on Gaza in a video.
This scene of a grieving and pained child, mourning the loss of her family who became martyrs, and she being the sole survivor left to bear the sorrow of their separation, is sadly becoming a recurring reality due to the Israeli occupation’s genocidal war and ethnic cleansing against civilians. This is manifested through the bombing of homes, residential areas, and schools with no prior warning to the residents.
The Israeli occupation committed over 1,400 massacres against civilians, including children, women, and the elderly, in various locations in the Gaza Strip. The latest atrocities include the bombing of several schools sheltering displaced people in the north and east of Gaza City, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of martyrs.
According to statistics from the Gaza government’s media office, more than 14,000 Palestinian martyrs, mostly civilians, have been killed, and over 33,000 others have been injured in various ways. Thousands are still missing under the rubble of destroyed homes to this day.”
