Watan-Hebrew media revealed details of the dismissal of the Israeli occupation army’s company commander and his deputy following a battle in the northern Gaza Strip.
Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper reported that the Israeli occupation army decided to dismiss two combat officers after a battle in the northern sector at the height of the ground battle, during which the force withdrew after falling into an ambush set up by Palestinian resistance.
It added that this unusual event created a severe crisis between the company leaders, their fighters, and the battalion commander, causing about half of them not to return to the unit due to the brigade commander’s decision to leave the battalion, alongside the general, and not with the deputy.
Confessions of Israeli Officers
Officers in the brigade have confessed that the force was sent on a mission in a flawed manner after engaging in prolonged activity in the Gaza Strip without rest. The incident created a challenging atmosphere within the battalion, leading to the decision to remove it. Simultaneously, it was decided to replace the two officers who were leading the company in the midst of the fighting.
The battalion had experienced what the newspaper described as serious events last month, including the injury of other officers and the death of another officer in the battle, in addition to the injury of the controversial brigadier.
Trust Crisis Among Israeli Soldiers
In recent days, soldiers from other units were brought in to fill the gap, as claimed by the Israeli army, leading to a trust crisis among them.
According to the investigation conducted, the company’s soldiers stated that they entered a besieged area, and the resistance fired continuous RPG shells towards them.
