The controversy began when the newspaper published a story concerning the body of a Palestinian infant who had been killed in an Israeli airstrike, claiming it was merely a “doll.”

The article in question pertained to five-month-old Palestinian infant, Mohammad Hani Al-Zahar, who lost his life when Israeli forces targeted his home in the Maghazi area of Gaza.

Israeli Newspaper Accuses Al Jazeera of Misleading Reporting, Issues Apology for False Story

In a recent development, the Israeli newspaper faced criticism for accusing Al Jazeera of disseminating footage depicting a man carrying a “doll.”

However, subsequent investigations revealed that the body in question belonged to a newborn infant who lost his life during the Israeli aggression on Gaza. Following this revelation, the newspaper issued a statement expressing regret and formally apologized for the misleading news, confirming its removal.

The newspaper’s apology for misinformation stated

In a statement released on the “X” platform, the Israeli newspaper acknowledged its error, stating, “We shared an article based on inaccurate sources. The article did not meet our editorial standards and, therefore, has been removed.”

Furthermore, the statement emphasized internal measures to prevent the recurrence of similar incidents, concluding with an apology: “We will address the matter internally to avoid similar occurrences. We apologize for this incident.” This incident highlights the challenges faced by media outlets during conflict reporting and underscores the importance of accurate and responsible journalism.

Heart-wrenching Video of Martyred Infant’s Body Emerges

A poignant video has surfaced capturing the grandfather of the martyred infant, Atiya Abu Omra, holding the lifeless body in front of cameras on Friday. This occurred on the first day of the resumption of the Israeli offensive against Gaza.
