Watan-The testimony of the Israeli child Emily, who was released from captivity, presents a new account confirming the Palestinian resistance’s humane treatment of its prisoners and detainees in Gaza.
During an interview with Israeli Channel 12, Emily’s sister stated, “Now, before she starts eating, she invites me and everyone else to join her.”
When the interviewer asked, “Wasn’t this her habit before?” Emily’s sister replied, “No,” and added, “She offers me food, even if I tell her I don’t want any, she says: ‘No, eat a little for my sake… She wasn’t like that before.”
She continued, “I asked her if they used to eat together in captivity and share food with the hungry more often, and she answered me with ‘yes.”

The humane treatment of prisoners by the resistance:
The Palestinian resistance, led by the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas, has garnered significant praise for its humane treatment of prisoners.
Scenes depicting the interaction between released prisoners and resistance fighters, with the latter expressing care and waving to them, contradict the narrative propagated by Israel and some in the West, which alleges mistreatment of detainees by the resistance.
Testimonies documenting this humane approach abound, such as that of Israeli prisoner Mia Shem, who drew attention with her statements about the positive treatment by the Palestinian resistance, both before and after her release.
On October 16th of last year, Mia spoke about this humane treatment, stating, “They took me to Gaza, performed a three-hour surgery on my hand… they took care of me, treated me, and provided me with medication… everything is fine.”
Even after her release, Mia Shem’s statements remained consistent, as she remarked, “The people are very good, very compassionate… everything is fine, the food is good, the treatment is kind, and everything is good.”
