Watan-In a heart-wrenching video circulating on social media, an elderly Palestinian father from Gaza bids a patient and resigned farewell to his son after he was martyred in an Israeli occupation bombardment on their home in the city of Khan Younis, south of the Gaza Strip. The father, in his emotional farewell, casts a final glance at his martyr son before his interment.
In the poignant video, the elderly Palestinian father implores, “O Lord, grant victory to the mujahideen, support the Muslims, and aid Palestine. Make us, O Allah, fuel for the liberation of Palestine and the eradication of the fascist disbelievers.”
“My children and everything I possess are sacrificed for you, O Allah”
He continues, “O Allah, deal with the fascists and Nazis, avenge us from them with a severe vengeance. O Allah, take them with a mighty, predetermined taking.”
He concludes his patient and resigned words, “O Lord, for the sake of Jerusalem, for the sake of Palestine, may all our blood, our people, our wealth, our children, and our sons be dedicated. Free our sanctuaries, O Allah. My children and everything I own are devoted to you, O Allah.”
Unprecedented Violence in the Conflict’s History: Palestinians in Gaza Endure the Fiercest War Yet
Palestinians in Gaza are currently facing the most intense conflict in the history of their struggle against Israeli occupation, since the Palestinian Nakba in 1948. The Israeli occupation has committed thousands of massacres against civilians in various locations across the Gaza Strip, bombarding residential neighborhoods, homes, schools, and churches, targeting the inhabitants without prior warning.
Moreover, during the ongoing 62-day war on Gaza, the Israeli occupation has relentlessly destroyed vital infrastructure by targeting educational and service institutions. Even hospitals have not been spared from the bombardment and siege by Israeli forces, leading to the disruption of services in many areas of Gaza City and the northern regions.
The toll of this prolonged conflict is staggering, with over 16,000 Palestinian martyrs, predominantly civilians, including children, women, and the elderly. Additionally, more than 42,000 others have sustained various injuries. Approximately 7,000 individuals remain unaccounted for, buried under the rubble of the destruction caused by the continuous Israeli war on Gaza up to the present day.
