Silent Strategist: Abu Ubaidah’s Mysterious Absence Raises Questions Amidst Al-Qassam Brigades’ Operations
Watan-The last appearance of ‘Al-Muthallim,’ the military spokesperson for the Al-Qassam Brigades, Abu Ubaidah, was on November 23rd of last year. Since then and until today, the speaker has not appeared in televised addresses, sparking discussions among activists and followers on social media.
Despite Abu Ubaidah’s last speeches being on the forty-eighth day of the Al-Aqsa Deluge battle, Palestinians in particular, and Arabs in general, have been eagerly awaiting ‘on the edge of their seats’ any urgent announcements indicating the presence of a speech or an audio recording from the spokesperson of the Al-Qassam Brigades, recognizable by his red headband, green scarf, and military uniform.
However, despite the non-appearance of ‘Al-Muthallim,’ the military spokesperson for the Al-Qassam Brigades, he has not ceased to disseminate tweets through his official channel on Telegram. These tweets include a summary of the Brigades’ operations in the Gaza Strip, with the latest update posted today, Thursday, December 8, 2023.
In his latest tweet, Abu Ubaidah announced that the ‘fighters of Al-Qassam’ have successfully destroyed 135 military vehicles entirely or partially during the last 72 hours in all combat zones in the Gaza Strip.

The military spokesperson confirmed that Al-Qassam fighters inflicted casualties, both dead and wounded, on dozens of Zionist soldiers. This occurred as a result of detonating a number of tunnel openings and houses after booby-trapping them, targeting the Zionist forces entrenched in deployment and positions with fortification-penetrating shells, explosives, and anti-personnel devices. They engaged with them at point-blank range.

He also indicated that Al-Qassam fighters shelled military gatherings with mortar shells and short-range missiles, directing intense rocket barrages towards various targets at different distances inside the Zionist entity. According to his tweet.
“Abu Ubaidah” is considered the voice of the Al-Qassam Brigades leading the media and psychological warfare against Israel. He has skillfully managed the media war, notably confronting Israeli speakers, whose conferences and speeches are not devoid of lies and fabrication aimed at tarnishing the resistance.
With the secrecy surrounding his identity, Israel claims to know his true identity.
