Global Solidarity: A Call for ‘StrikeForGaza’ on December 11, 2023, to End Israeli Aggression
The brutal Israeli war has resulted in the martyrdom of 17,487 Palestinians, half of whom are children.

Watan-With the brutal Israeli war against the Gaza Strip, activists on social media platforms have issued calls for a global comprehensive strike on Monday, December 11, 2023, in solidarity with the people of Gaza and to halt the ongoing Israeli war since October 7, 2023.

Activists state that the objective of the ‘strikeforgaza’ campaign is to exert pressure on governments worldwide, compelling them to take serious action to stop the continuous Israeli massacres, primarily targeting civilians, including children and women.

The idea behind the strike is to refrain from attending schools, commercial establishments, or various workplaces, thereby paralyzing the flow of life and economic activity in all countries. This may contribute to making everyone feel directly affected by the war on Gaza.

Supporters of the campaign emphasize its importance

Famous groups such as the ‘Palestinian Youth Movement Worldwide,’ ‘Sumoud Palestinian Movement,’ and the ‘Palestinian Activism Group in America’ have joined the campaign. Participants stress the importance of mobilizing supporters for the Palestinian cause and taking serious action to halt the unprecedented tragedy.

The Canadian activist, Cheryl Benson, emphasized the importance of committing to the strike, stating as reported by media outlets: ‘We need a global strike. Everyone will leave work until the ceasefire is achieved,’ adding, ‘That will affect their pockets.’

Tarek Al-Mandoog tweeted: ‘A comprehensive strike for Gaza worldwide to stop the aggression and genocide in Gaza. There is a crime against humanity with warplanes and internationally banned weapons targeting the people of Gaza, witnessed by all the governments of the world, the entire world. There is no longer any justification for any country in the world to refrain from stopping this aggression that the mind can comprehend.

Some accounts on the X platform wrote: ‘On Monday, December 11, 2023, a global strike for the honor of Gaza. Do not go anywhere, do not buy anything, do not go to work, do not send your children to school, do not open your shop. Just for one day to save 2 million people from death. Just for one day, boycott everything.

According to some Twitter users, the campaign has received significant traction from Western societies, which have taken the campaign seriously and promoted it extensively. Followers on the X platform have also engaged with the campaign, emphasizing the necessity of Arab communities participating in it.

Calls to Stop the Bloodshed in Gaza

Palestinian human rights organizations have called for a worldwide strike, emphasizing the importance of this step for the sake of Palestinian children and women, and to put an end to the bloodshed caused by the brutal Israeli war. The goal is also to address the tragedy of the blockade on the Gaza Strip, halt the cutting off of all means of life for its residents.

The United States utilized its veto power against a resolution calling for a ceasefire in Gaza, despite widespread protests and opposition to the war and the escalating number of casualties. Israel continues its crimes with unprecedented Western and American support, extending to other regions, including ‘Ukraine.’

Israeli occupation persists in its destructive war against the Gaza Strip, committing massacres against civilians. According to the latest figures released by the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip, the war has led to the martyrdom of 17,487 Palestinians and left 46,480 injured.
