Watan-The former U.S. ambassador to Israel, Martin Indyk, has called for the resignation of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, describing him as a clear and present danger to the United States.
Indyk stated in a tweet on the Ex platform that Netanyahu’s insistence on staying in power, regardless of the cost, is evident and poses a threat to Israel. Therefore, he should resign immediately.
Another must read investigative blockbuster from @MarkMazzettiNYT and @ronenbergman skewering @netanyahu for his years-long funding of Hamas via Qatar. He needs to resign before he does even more damage to Israel. https://t.co/oWK9sBoMcz

Indyk was previously tasked with formulating a Palestinian-Israeli peace agreement during his tenure as a special envoy for President Barack Obama in the Middle East between 2013 and 2014.
His statements come in the wake of a report published by The New York Times, indicating that Netanyahu was not only aware that Qatar was transferring millions of dollars monthly to Gaza, supporting the Hamas government but also encouraged these funds.
According to the report, Netanyahu and other Israeli officials allowed the flow of money into Gaza in an attempt to maintain calm and stability in the region, believing that Hamas had neither the desire nor the ability to launch a wide-scale attack. The newspaper previously noted that Israeli officials had information about Hamas’ plans a year before its attack on October 7 but chose to overlook it, deeming an actual attack unlikely.
Several opponents of Netanyahu in Israel have accused his government of actively enhancing Hamas’s capabilities in Gaza by allowing Qatar to funnel hundreds of millions of dollars into the besieged territory.
