Watan-Israeli media revealed that the Egyptian police have arrested an Israeli who crossed the maritime border, later handing him over to the Israeli police.
According to Israeli media, the individual, riding a jet ski in the Red Sea, accidentally crossed the Egyptian borders coming from the occupied Palestinian territories. The Israeli army monitors who identified the person sent forces to stop him, but he managed to cross the border and was apprehended by the Egyptian police.
Following the incident, the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement, mentioning that the situation was identified and dealt with by the ministry and the Israeli embassy in Egypt.
It’s worth noting that a similar incident occurred about a year and a half ago when an Israeli crossed the maritime border between Egypt and the occupied Palestinian territories while riding a jet ski. At that time, the Egyptian authorities released the Israeli after a seven-hour interrogation.
The spokesperson for the Israeli army at that time stated that an Israeli indeed crossed the maritime border with Egypt using a motorcycle and was simultaneously arrested and interrogated by local security forces.
