Watan-The father of Palestinian journalist and correspondent for Al Jazeera, Anas Al-Sharif, was martyred on Monday as a result of the occupation forces bombing his home in Jabalia, Gaza.

Al Jazeera announced the news of the martyrdom of its correspondent Anas Al-Sharif’s father, and Al-Sharif himself shared the news of his father’s martyrdom on his official Twitter account.
According to observations by “Watan,” Anas Al-Sharif wrote in a tweet on his account that received significant interaction and condolences: “The beloved father has been martyred. To Allah we belong, and to Him, we shall return.”
Following the martyrdom of his father, journalist Anas Al-Sharif stated to Al Jazeera, “The occupation does not want the picture to emerge, and we will continue coverage despite the blockade.”
He further explained that they were unable to bury his father due to Israeli airstrikes, and they were forced to bury him in a schoolyard.
Anas Al-Sharif clarified that the Israeli forces targeted the house where his father lived in Jabalia camp, and he was immediately martyred. He couldn’t reach his home due to the continuous Zionist airstrikes.
Despite everything, Al-Sharif emphasized that he would continue covering the Israeli occupation’s crimes against Palestinians in Gaza.
The news of the martyrdom of Al Jazeera correspondent’s father sparked widespread anger on social media. Host Hossam Yahya wrote: “The terrorist occupation army once again shows its deliberate targeting of journalists, bombing the house of Al Jazeera correspondent colleague Anas Al-Sharif, leading to the martyrdom of his father.”

And a tweeter named Yasser wrote: “The occupation kills the father of journalist Anas Al-Sharif in a Zionist airstrike targeting their home in Jabalia camp, north of the Gaza Strip. The martyr, Jamal Al-Sharif… To the highest heights.”
On Monday, dozens of Palestinians were martyred in Israeli airstrikes targeting areas in Deir al-Balah and its surroundings in the midst of the besieged Gaza Strip. Additionally, dozens were martyred and injured in airstrikes on the camps of Jabalia and Al-Maghazi to the north, and Khan Yunis to the south.
