Abdul Khaliq Abdullah’s Tweet on UAE Managing Gaza Draws Widespread Criticism

Watan-The Emirati academic Dr. Abdul Khaliq Abdullah, associated with the system of Mohammed bin Zayed and close to him, posted a recent tweet in which he discussed the hypothesis of the United Arab Emirates administering the Gaza Strip. Gaza has been subjected to a brutal Israeli war for several months, during which the occupation committed horrific crimes against women and children.

Abdul Khaliq Abdullah claimed in his controversial tweet that if the UAE took over the administration of the devastated and occupied Gaza, it would rebuild it and provide a decent life for its 2.5 million inhabitants, transforming it into a global tourist, financial, and commercial center within 10 years.

He added to the hypothesis of the UAE taking over the administration of Gaza that it would “attract the best Palestinian and Arab talents, just like Dubai.” He claimed that what he proposed is merely “a contemplation by an Emirati academic who never loses sight of Gaza for a single moment.”

“And Naguib Sawiris, the Egyptian businessman, responded to what the Emirati academic said, considering it the ‘best idea.’ This reflects the extent to which Egypt aligns itself with the Emirati normalization in favor of the occupation and its agendas.

Abdul Khaliq Abdullah sparked controversy with a fabricated image on Al Jazeera, falsely claiming a statement attributed to a spokesperson for the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, stating that he is outside Gaza.

In his comment on the image he shared, Abdul Khaliq Abdullah appeared to have lost his composure, lacking any valid argument or logic to criticize the Palestinian resistance, stating, “Some thought that Abu Ubaida is the Che Guevara of his time.”

“Widespread Ridicule”

The Emirati academic Abdul Khaliq Abdullah’s hypothesis about the UAE managing Gaza has sparked widespread ridicule and numerous comments on social media platforms.

An academic fool tweets while his country destroys stone and people in Yemen, Libya, and Sudan, and an Egyptian millionaire supports considering Gaza or Palestine as his father’s farm.

Palestinian journalist and editor-in-chief of (Watan) under the name of Al-Mahdawi responded to the tweet on the (X) platform, describing Abdul Khaliq Abdullah as a “foolish academic who tweets… his country destroyed stone and people in Yemen, Libya, and Sudan, and an Egyptian millionaire supports considering Gaza or Palestine as his father’s farm.”

With evidence and argument, Syrian journalist Qutaiba Yassin confirmed the Emirati academic’s falsehood and his country’s lies in its claims of being a “maker of peace and civilizations”: “Southern Yemen has been under your control for years, and we haven’t seen it turn into a tourist, financial, and commercial center.”

“Yemen is the Best Proof!”

Ahmed Fawzi sarcastically commented on the Emirati academic Abdul Khaliq Abdullah, saying, “Where have I heard this before? Let me think… Oh yes, I heard it in Aden, Yemen, in 2015.”

Regarding that time, Fawzi added in his tweet about the lies told by the Emiratis: “They said Aden would be like Dubai, and they turned it into a swamp with militias and destroyed it until, when they left, they took the power stations.”

He continued, “I saw it before in Somalia, and when the Somali government expelled the UAE, out of the UAE’s spite, they emptied the hospital of all its contents.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sent a message on Monday, which observers say is Emirati-Saudi, reassuring Israelis that they will not pay any money for the reconstruction of Gaza. He stated that the funds from Riyadh and Abu Dhabi will cover the cost of what Israel destroyed in the besieged Palestinian territory.

Netanyahu spoke in the language of Mohammed bin Zayed and Mohammed bin Salman in a Knesset session, assuring Israelis not to worry about the destruction of Gaza, as their systems will pay the cost and bear the economic burden.
