Watan-A video has circulated documenting the tragic situation Palestinians are enduring in the Gaza Strip due to the aggressive war launched by the occupation forces since October 7th. The area is also subjected to a horrifying siege.

In the footage, a Palestinian refugee is seen collecting the remnants of flour scattered above the rubble in the Falouja area of Jabalia camp, following a deadly Israeli airstrike that targeted one of the shelter schools.

The Palestinian refugee stated that he is forced to do so due to the lack of flour in Gaza (because of the imposed siege on the territory).

Gaza is facing a humanitarian catastrophe due to a shortage of food supplies and the limited humanitarian aid coming through the Rafah crossing.

Challenges facing the World Food Programme The World Food Programme had earlier confirmed that it has become impossible to deliver aid to the hungry in Gaza with the escalation of Israel’s aggression.

Carl Skau, Deputy Executive Director of the World Food Programme, stated in a statement after his visit to the territory: “With the collapse of law and order, any meaningful humanitarian operation has become impossible.”

He added, “With a very small fraction of the necessary food supplies reaching, the stark absence of fuel, the interruption of communication systems, and the lack of security for our staff or the people we serve in (distribution centers), we cannot carry out our work.”

The World Health Organization unanimously adopted a resolution calling for the immediate dispatch of aid to the Gaza Strip to address the catastrophic health situation.

Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the Director-General of the World Health Organization, stated that the healthcare system in Gaza is collapsing, issuing a warning that the impact of the war on health has become disastrous. He also confirmed that there are concerning indicators of the presence of epidemic diseases.

He added, “With the population gathering more in small and densely populated areas in Gaza, coupled with a shortage of water and food, all of this creates ideal conditions for the spread of diseases. A ceasefire is the only solution to help the people of Gaza, and I am deeply sorry that the Security Council could not adopt this resolution last Friday.”
