Defiance in Grief: A Palestinian Father’s Challenge to Netanyahu After Daughter’s Martyrdom
A Palestinian lost his daughter in an Israeli airstrike

Watan-A Palestinian citizen showed great resilience after his daughter was martyred in an Israeli airstrike on the Nuseirat refugee camp, as part of the ongoing war waged by the occupying army on the Gaza Strip since October 7th of last year.

In an interview with Al Jazeera, the citizen said, ‘I say, may our Lord compensate you with the best compensation. My daughter was martyred; she was 3 years old, a small innocent child. The Israeli army killed her.’

And he added, ‘We were inside the house, I was preparing lunch for them on the roof, and we were all sitting with the children when the house was hit. Suddenly, I saw the entire house collapsing upon us.’

He mentioned that he suffered a back fracture, along with several burns and stitches on his head. His son also suffered severe burns, and he prayed to God for mercy.

Returning to talk about his young daughter, he said, ‘My daughter was the dearest person to me. I say to Israel, may God be sufficient for us, you killed the children, and you want to drive us away, but we are not leaving. By God, we will stay, even if you destroy the entire world, we will not leave Gaza.’

He continued, ‘We will remain steadfast. We have a will stronger than steel, and if Netanyahu and his government think they can break us, tell them, “No.” Go to prison, O most despicable beings in the world.’

It is worth noting that since October 7th of last year, the Israeli occupation army has been waging a destructive war on Gaza, resulting in 18,800 martyrs and 51,000 injuries as of Friday, most of whom are children and women.

Since the first day of the war on Gaza, the plan for forced displacement prepared by the occupation authorities has emerged. However, Palestinians resist this plan with great resilience.

The Israeli occupation army continues intensive airstrikes across various parts of the Gaza Strip, trying to force residents to leave their lands, but they persist in staying on their land.”
