Discussions about the possibility of deploying Israeli forces on the Egyptian side of the Rafah crossing

Watan-According to Hebrew media, the occupying government is reportedly exploring the possibility of deploying Israeli forces on the Egyptian side of the Rafah border crossing. This is under the pretext of thwarting any attempt by Hamas to escape or smuggle Israeli prisoners.

As per these reports, including from Hebrew Channel 12, the Israeli occupation authorities have requested Egypt’s permission to deploy their forces at the Rafah border crossing to prevent any attempt to “smuggle Israeli prisoners or facilitate the escape of Hamas leaders into Sinai.”

According to the same source, Israeli discussions aim to ensure that Hamas is unable to escape or smuggle Israeli prisoners through factions of the resistance in the Gaza Strip into Egypt.

Furthermore, it was added that these measures are the subject of ongoing discussions and a security coordination process conducted by the occupation with the Egyptian side.

This comes at a time when the occupying army is intensifying its monitoring of the Philadelphi Corridor, situated between Egypt and the besieged Gaza Strip, according to Israeli reports.

For the second consecutive day, Israel has been escalating its airstrikes on border areas in the Palestinian city of Rafah, close to the separation barrier between Egypt and the Gaza Strip, as revealed by the Sinai Foundation for Human Rights.

The first line houses

Earlier, Israeli media revealed that the Israeli occupation army is conducting an unusual attack along the border between Egypt and the Gaza Strip to destroy tunnels. This incident marks an unprecedented development in more than two months since the Israeli aggression against Gaza.

The occupation targeted, with a significant attack, houses along the first line in the city of Rafah, situated between Egypt and Gaza. This step was described by the Egyptian media figure close to the regime, Mustafa Bakry, as ‘a dangerous development that could lead to an explosion in the situation between Egypt and Israel.'”

A serious development

Bakri said in a tweet on his former Twitter account: ‘The Israeli army launched an attack a short while ago along the Egyptian-Palestinian border on the Philadelphi Axis, claiming to destroy tunnels between Egypt and Gaza.’

He added: ‘This is a serious development that could lead to an explosion in the situation between Egypt and Israel. The strikes are just a few meters away from the Egyptian border; the enemy is persisting in its plans. Egypt’s borders are a red line.’
