Iranian Informant Faces Execution: Mossad Collaboration Exposed

Watan-The Iranian authorities stated that they executed a citizen convicted of espionage for the Israeli Mossad in the Sistan and Baluchestan province in the southeast of the country. The individual was charged with “providing information to Israeli intelligence with the aim of undermining security in Iran and promoting the interests of opposition groups to the Iranian regime.”

Iranian state television reported on Saturday that the executed spy was affiliated with foreign intelligence agencies, including the Mossad, and was accused of disseminating confidential information.

According to a report by the Associated Press, the judiciary executed the individual in a prison in the city of Zahedan, the capital of Sistan and Baluchestan province in the southeast of the country. The report did not specify the identity of the person.

Zahedan Prison

The British newspaper The Guardian reported that the execution took place in Zahedan Prison in the Sistan and Baluchestan province in the southeast of the country. This occurred a day after Baloch militants attacked a police station in the region, resulting in the killing of 12 security personnel and the injury of several others.

According to the report, the individual “deliberately collected confidential information while communicating with foreign agencies and provided those documents to agencies, including the Israeli Mossad.”

The man is accused of “intelligence collaboration and espionage in favor of the anti-Zionist regime (Israel), collecting confidential information, and providing information directly to an officer of the Mossad spy agency with the aim of disrupting public order.”

After his arrest, he was tried in a revolutionary court in Zahedan, the capital of Sistan and Baluchestan province, and was sentenced to execution, according to the same source.

The Supreme Court in the country later upheld the verdict, and his request for clemency was rejected.

In the past, several Iranians, including those with dual nationality, have been executed, most of them on charges of spying for foreign agencies.

It is worth noting that Sistan and Baluchestan province announced the killing of 12 security personnel in a terrorist attack on the police headquarters in the city of Rask on Thursday/Friday night.

According to reports circulating in the local press, the attack was claimed by an organization calling itself the “Army of Justice,” stating that it “defends the rights of Sunni Baloch.”

The organization is listed as a terrorist group in Iran and has a presence in Sistan and Baluchestan.

Iran occasionally announces the arrest of individuals accused of spying for foreign countries, including the United States and Israel.

In 2020, Iran executed a man convicted of leaking information to the United States and Israel about a prominent general in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps who was later killed in a U.S. drone strike in Iraq.

In April 2022, Iranian intelligence officers arrested three individuals claiming to be affiliated with a group linked to the Mossad. It is unclear whether the executed person was one of them.
