Al-Qassam Brigades Target Israeli Forces and Vehicles in Southern Gaza

Hamas's military wing announces multiple strikes on Israeli positions in Khan Younis as part of ongoing resistance against the prolonged war on Gaza.

Watan-On Monday, the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, announced that it had launched a series of attacks targeting Israeli forces, a military site, and an armored vehicle in the southern Gaza Strip using mortars and rockets.

In a statement, the brigades said:”After returning from the front lines, Al-Qassam fighters confirmed they had targeted an enemy troop gathering east of the town of al-Qarara, east of Khan Younis, with 13 mortar shells—120mm and 60mm calibers.”

The group also confirmed the targeting of a location called “Al-Ain Al-Thalitha” (the Third Eye) east of the city with three short-range “Rajoum” rockets on May 31, 2025.

In a separate statement, Al-Qassam reported targeting an Israeli military bulldozer (D9 model) with a Yassin-105 anti-armor shell on Sunday in the Qizan al-Najjar area, south of Khan Younis.

These attacks are part of broader retaliation by Palestinian factions against what they describe as an ongoing genocide by Israel—backed by the United States—that has now entered its 20th consecutive month.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel has been committing large-scale atrocities in Gaza, including mass killings, starvation, destruction of civilian infrastructure, and forced displacement. The war has resulted in more than 178,000 Palestinian deaths and injuries, most of them women and children, along with over 11,000 missing persons and hundreds of thousands of displaced civilians. Famine has claimed the lives of many, including children.

Israel has maintained a blockade on Gaza for 18 years. Currently, around 1.5 million of Gaza’s estimated 2.4 million residents are homeless due to the widespread destruction caused by the ongoing assault.

Israel also continues to occupy land in Palestine, Syria, and Lebanon and refuses to withdraw or accept the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on pre-1967 borders.
