Watan-An Israeli tank shelled a house where Palestinian resistance fighters were holding a number of prisoners during the Al-Aqsa Storm operation on October 7th, as revealed by the Israeli daily newspaper Haaretz.
The Israeli army has not yet confirmed this conclusion, which is based on footage released by Channel 12.
Testimony of a settler
One settler reported that around 6:10 in the evening of that day, they saw hundreds of soldiers and officers, as well as dozens of Border Guard vehicles and others. He added, “Personally, I approached every officer I saw, even those with the rank of sergeant first class, and asked who the commander was. No one knew. It seemed like chaotic leadership.”
He continued, “I told them that inside, families were fighting, and they needed to enter, but there was no one to talk to. These were times and hours when we needed to flood the kibbutz with soldiers, but only a very few forces entered. We fought all day on our own.”
Yair Avital, a member of the reserve unit in the kibbutz, revealed, “500 soldiers stood outside, and no one took responsibility. People here were losing blood every minute. The army outside stood and didn’t understand what was happening here.”
Meanwhile, Yasmin Borat, who survived the attack on the artistic event, said she was held in the mentioned house with Israelis and managed to get herself out of it.
She explained that she approached a soldier and asked if the shells would harm other Israelis. The soldier replied, “We do it on the sides only to bring down the walls.”
Borat had provided her testimony about the incident in an interview with an Israeli radio channel in Hebrew two months ago. At that time, she stated that the goal of the Palestinian fighters who held her along with dozens of other prisoners was to transport them to Gaza, not to kill them.
