13 Palestinians Killed in Israeli Strikes on Khan Younis, Including Children and Women
Deadly airstrikes hit displacement camps and civilian zones across southern Gaza as rights groups warn of rising casualties and "death trap" aid centers.
Watan-On Monday, 13 Palestinians, including children and women, were killed and several others wounded in Israeli airstrikes on various areas of Khan Younis in southern Gaza, according to the Palestinian News and Information Agency (WAFA).
The agency reported that seven people were killed and others wounded when Israeli forces bombed a tent sheltering displaced families in the Al-Mawasi area west of Khan Younis. Additional deaths were reported in Abasan al-Kabira to the east of the city. One woman also succumbed to injuries sustained in a previous strike.
A young girl was shot and killed by Israeli forces in the industrial zone northwest of Khan Younis, while two others were killed in an Israeli drone strike targeting a group of civilians in Batin al-Samin, south of the city.
Since the start of Israel’s war on Gaza on October 7, 2023, more than 54,880 Palestinians, mostly women and children, have been killed, and over 126,000 have been injured.
In central Gaza, 31 injuries were reported at Al-Awda Hospital in Nuseirat due to Israeli drone attacks involving live ammunition and bombs near a food aid distribution site by the Netzarim checkpoint.
The Palestine Press Agency reported the killing of three more civilians in a separate strike in Nuseirat Camp.
Meanwhile, Israeli airstrikes and heavy artillery shelling intensified on Jabalia, as drones continued to hover above the northern city.

“Death Traps for the Hungry”
According to Hamas, 10 more civilians were killed and dozens injured Monday as Israeli forces opened fire on people waiting near aid centers in Rafah and southern Gaza, turning these sites into what the group called “death traps” operated by private security firms under Israeli and U.S. coordination.
Hamas demanded the UN take over aid distribution, claiming that since May 27, 125 Palestinians have been killed and 736 injured while seeking humanitarian relief at such distribution sites.
The movement accused Israel of committing genocide and forced starvation to drive mass displacement, calling for an international investigation and criminal prosecution of Israeli leaders.
Human rights organizations have criticized Israel’s unilateral aid plan, carried out in “buffer zones” and outside of UN supervision, where Palestinians are forced to pass through metal cages under degrading conditions, resulting in increased casualties.
Evacuation Warnings Intensify
Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee issued new evacuation orders Monday to residents in Jabalia, Jabalia Camp, the Old City, and the neighborhoods of Nahda, Rawda, Salam, Nour, Tuffah, Daraj, and Tel al-Zaatar, labeling them “active combat zones.”
He instructed civilians to evacuate immediately to known shelters in northern Gaza.
Since March 18, when Israel resumed its offensive, the army has been issuing near-daily evacuation warnings across Gaza.
According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), 82% of Gaza’s land is now either militarized or under forced evacuation orders, leaving civilians trapped in rapidly shrinking safe zones.
