Watan-The Israeli occupation sent a message to the Egyptian army stating, ‘We are not responsible for the safety of your forces.’ This message conveyed its intention to occupy the border area along the Philadelphi Corridor in the southern Gaza Strip.
According to Hebrew sources, the Israeli military affirmed to the Egyptians that they would no longer be responsible for the safety of their forces during the attempt to occupy the border region.
Israeli sources, as reported by i24news, mentioned that the occupation communicated to the Egyptian government that the military operation in the region ‘will continue whether Egypt agrees or refuses.
The occupation conducted unusual activity in the Philadelphi Corridor
Reports indicated that Israeli forces fired shells toward the Philadelphi Corridor located on the border between Gaza and Egypt. Additionally, reports mentioned the movement of tanks and armored personnel carriers west of the Kerem Shalom Crossing.
The Hebrew site ‘Walla’ reported that the Israeli military introduced numerous forces into the area between the Kerem Shalom Crossing and Rafah, including the Philadelphi Corridor, and conducted a brief maneuver.
The resistance engaged in gunfire against the Israeli forces, launching an attack on them. Simultaneously, the General Authority for Crossings and Borders in Gaza officially denied any military operation by the occupation in the Philadelphi Corridor, specifically stating that there is no military activity in the Philadelphi passage on the Palestinian-Egyptian border.
The Authority issued a statement indicating that ‘the Egyptian side denied having any information about the enemy’s intention to move militarily in the Palestinian-Egyptian border axis.’
The statement added, ‘All field information about military movements on the border with Egypt starting from Kerem Shalom is untrue.’
According to Egyptian journalist Hossam Yahia, ‘Any Israeli armored movement on the Egyptian border line from Kerem Shalom to the sea in the Philadelphi Corridor would be with the knowledge and authorization of the Egyptian government.’

Yahia added, “According to the Philadelphi Agreement between the occupation authorities and Egypt, any Israeli tank passing along this line must have an official Egyptian permit.”
What is the Philadelphi Corridor?
According to activist Anas Habeib, “The Philadelphi Corridor is a demilitarized zone along a 14-kilometer stretch from the Mediterranean Sea to the Kerem Shalom Crossing. Israeli military presence is not allowed in it according to the peace treaty known as the Camp David Accords of 1979.”
Habeib explained, “A clear and explicit violation of the peace treaty, and this means that we are literally being occupied. Any talk of a reaction from Egypt is futile because our rulers are essentially cousins of Netanyahu, and he is here just to play his role for them.
