Watan-The Al-Jazeera network revealed the contents of a message sent by Yahya al-Sinwar, the head of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the Gaza Strip, two days ago, to the head of the movement’s political bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, and its members.

Describing the message as important and lengthy, Al-Sinwar stated in it that the Al-Qassam Brigades are engaged in a fierce and unprecedented battle against the Israeli occupation forces.

In his message, Al-Sinwar confirmed that the occupation army suffered heavy losses in both lives and equipment during the confrontations.

According to Al-Sinwar’s message, relayed by close sources to Hamas, the Al-Qassam Brigades targeted at least five thousand soldiers and officers during the ground war, with one-third of them killed, one-third seriously injured, and the remaining third permanently disabled.

Regarding military vehicles, 750 of them were destroyed, either completely or partially, as stated in the message.

Al-Sinwar stated in the message that the Al-Qassam Brigades shattered the occupation army and are on the path to further dismantling it, emphasizing that they will not submit to the conditions of the occupation.

Al-Sinwar praises the resilience of the Palestinian people

In the message, Al-Sinwar also commended the steadfastness of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, stating that they have provided examples of sacrifice, heroism, courage, solidarity, and mutual support that have no equal. He emphasized the duty of the political leadership to swiftly address the wounds of the people and strengthen their resilience.

The disclosure of this message comes at a time when offers for a ceasefire from the occupation have been ongoing through Qatari and Egyptian mediators, seeking a temporary humanitarian truce. However, the movement reiterated its insistence on moving beyond humanitarian truces to a comprehensive ceasefire.

In a related context, the Ambassador of Israel to the United States, Michael Herzog, stated that Israel is interested in reaching an agreement to release more prisoners and detainees. Herzog mentioned that it is unclear whether Hamas will agree to a new deal and spoke about the U.S. government sharing the goal of fighting to defeat the Hamas movement.
