Frozen Innocence: Heartbreaking Scene of a Baby’s Plight in Gaza

Watan-The humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip worsens as the brutal Israeli war approaches its third month, accompanied by a horrifying deterioration in living conditions.

Video footage has revealed a distressing incident in Gaza, where a baby was seen sleeping on a sidewalk in the Al-Bureij refugee camp.

The family of this baby was forced to evacuate under the threats of Israeli occupation forces, and unable to find shelter, they ended up staying on the street.

The cold weather exacerbates the tragedy for Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, especially those who find themselves sleeping on the streets after losing their homes due to the humanitarian disaster caused by the war.

Humanitarian tragedy afflicts the displaced

And the dire conditions afflict the displaced in shelters, centers, and schools, estimated to be around 1.9 million people, encompassing all age groups

The severe impact is particularly felt by vulnerable groups, including children, infants, the elderly, patients, pregnant women, and individuals with various disabilities.

This suffering encompasses the lack of basic necessities such as food, clean drinking water, and all essential life requirements. It extends to crucial items like infant formula, nutritional supplements, medicines for treating various diseases, and medications to address illnesses exacerbated by severe pollution resulting from congestion and lack of cleanliness within shelter centers, as well as cleaning supplies and disinfectants.

To document this disastrous situation, the Medical Coordinator for Médecins Sans Frontières in Jerusalem, Gilead Thomas, stated that the horror in Gaza has reached a point where there are no longer words to describe it.

She added that Palestinians in Gaza face difficulties in accessing food, as people there lack the funds to purchase even the basic nutritional needs.

She pointed out that communication networks in Gaza are severed, and humanitarian relief workers are unable to communicate with each other, hindering the delivery of aid to the residents.
