Watan-The Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades, the military wing of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, broadcasted a video on Saturday, claiming it showed the killing of an Israeli captive who the occupation attempted to rescue. The captive was reportedly targeted and killed through an airstrike after the Israeli forces failed to reach him.
According to the Palestinian brigades, an Israeli airstrike resulted in the death of an Israeli soldier held by the brigades in Gaza, also causing injuries among other detainees.
A spokesperson for the brigades conveyed a message, as reported by Al-Arabi TV, explaining that the airstrike occurred after a failed attempt by an Israeli special forces unit to rescue the soldier.

Killed After Failed Rescue Attempt”
The spokesperson did not provide further details regarding the time or place of the Israeli soldier’s captivity in Gaza, clarifying that the Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades still hold his body.
No comment has been issued by the spokesperson’s office of the Israeli army.
The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine is the second-largest faction within the Palestine Liberation Organization after Fatah.
“Increase in the Toll of Martyrs in Gaza”
The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced on Saturday that the casualties of the Israeli war on the Palestinian territory have reached 21,672 martyrs since the beginning of the conflict on October 7th.
Among the victims, 165 were martyred, and 250 were injured in the past 24 hours alone.

The ministry clarified that 56,165 individuals have been wounded due to Israeli airstrikes on Gaza since October 7th, and only 1% of the injured have been evacuated for treatment outside the region through the Rafah crossing.
