Watan-The Lebanese Internal Security Forces revealed horrifying details about the murder of an Ethiopian girl by a person of Sudanese nationality in the Sunday Market area in Beirut.
This comes after sanitation workers found the body of an unidentified girl with dark skin placed inside a large bag in a waste container.
According to a statement from the General Directorate of Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division, on December 16, 2023, sanitation workers discovered the body of an unidentified girl with dark skin placed inside a large bag in a waste container in the Sunday Market area. She was bound at her feet, had been beaten on the face, and there was a phone charger cable around her neck.
According to the statement, orders were immediately given to the specialized units within the Internal Security Forces to carry out field and investigative procedures to uncover the circumstances of the murder, identify the perpetrator, and arrest them.
As a result of the follow-up, the identity of the victim was determined to be L. N. (born in 1989, Ethiopian nationality).
The Information Branch suspected an individual of Sudanese nationality, as the victim was romantically involved with him. He resides in the Furn El Chebbak area, where he works as a building caretaker, and his name is H. A. (born in 1993).
On December 22, 2023, after careful monitoring and surveillance, one of the patrols of the Information Branch managed to apprehend him at his workplace and residence.
Upon searching him, his mobile phone and wallet were seized, containing two pictures of UN refugee request documents with different names.
As a result of the investigations with the suspect
He added that, following a quarrel between them, he struck her with a glass plate on her head, causing her to fall to the ground. Her face collided with a glass table, resulting in scratches.
Afterwards, he proceeded to strangle her with a phone charger cable and tied her feet with a strip. Once he confirmed her death, he placed her in a bag and transported her from his home, using a waste container he used to collect building waste, to the waste dump in the Sunday Market area, where he discarded her.
Afterwards, he returned home and cleaned up, disposing of the carpet, plate, and table. He also cleaned the waste container of blood traces and placed it in the electrical room.
It was revealed that he entered the country illegally through Syria, using different identities under other people’s names for the purpose of movement and work.
The statement concluded that legal measures were taken against him, and he was handed over to the relevant authorities based on the directives of the competent judiciary.
