Watan-Hebrew media revealed the verdict of an Israeli court against the Jewish religious man “Rehaim Haim,” sentencing him to 19 years in prison. He had raped his daughter since she was three years old, for over a decade, within the occupation state. The occupation state accuses Palestinian resistance of committing rape during the October 7 attack, allegations that have been proven false.
According to the Hebrew website “Walla,” the Nazareth court sentenced “Rehaim Haim,” the Israeli religious man, to 19 years in prison, along with other penalties for the severe harm he caused to his daughter.
The Israeli judges stated in their verdict: “He was well aware of the gravity and ugliness of his actions.” Discussions on his case were delayed after he fled to Ukraine and was arrested there.
He fled from Israel to Ukraine and was extradited with an arrest warrant
According to the Hebrew website, the court allowed the publication of this news in the media on Wednesday, following the issuance of the verdict last week.
Charges were filed against the Israeli Jewish religious man “Rehaim Haim” in January of last year. However, three weeks later, he fled from the Zionist entity on the day before the opening of his trial hearings.
Consequently, an arrest warrant was issued against him, and he was apprehended in Ukraine and extradited to Israel.
According to the recorded verdict, the accused has nine children, and the complainant is the sixth in birth order. Her father committed acts of rape, sodomy, and inappropriate behavior towards her on numerous occasions.
As part of the sentencing arguments, the prosecution called for Rahim to be punished with a long and extended prison term, reflecting the serious harm he inflicted on his daughter.
Attorney “Einat Gotsman” from the Northern District Prosecutor’s Office wrote in the arguments, “The accused exploited the complainant’s dependence on him and her love for him to satisfy his desires, lust, and sexual urges while causing her pain in her own home.”
The lawyer Sophie Granit Tkatzman, representing the victim on behalf of the alleged Ministry of Justice’s legal aid in the occupation state, stated, as reported by “Yedioth Ahronoth,” that “this is a serious case of family sexual crimes committed by a father against his daughter since she was three years old until approximately the age of 13.5.”
Judge “Saeb Dafour,” referring to the accused, remarked, “He was well aware of the seriousness and heinousness of the acts, and at any point during the long period, he could have stopped his actions.”
He added, according to the same source, “The acts were committed within the accused’s home and the complainant’s place, which was supposed to be the safest place for the complainant, suddenly turned into a trap. The acts were committed continuously for about a decade.”
As per a previous report by “Al Jazeera,” despite numerous cases of sexual assault exposed within the ranks of rabbis and religious figures, the religious authorities in the occupation state follow a consistent approach in dealing with these crimes, involving initial neglect, followed by denial. Later, there is defense for the perpetrators, condemnation of their punishment, and attempts to suppress the narratives of the victims, pressuring them to prevent their testimonies from coming to light.
