Watan-Palestinian activists shared a video on social media platforms featuring a wedding procession of a groom who announced his marriage inside one of the shelters for displaced people in Gaza, despite the ongoing Israeli war on the Gaza Strip for the 92nd day.

In the circulated video, a group of the groom’s relatives can be seen inside one of the shelters for displaced people in Gaza, celebrating and carrying the groom on their shoulders. They placed money on his head, congratulating him on his wedding.

The friends of the Palestinian groom, carrying him on their shoulders, chanted, “Oh groom, the father of the duck, from where did you get this duck?” in a playful scene that mixed joy and sadness over the harsh conditions they are enduring due to the ongoing Israeli war on Gaza.

Despite all the challenges and difficult circumstances faced by the residents of the Gaza Strip, the groom bravely defied them to announce his marriage inside one of the shelters for displaced people in the southern part of Gaza.

One of the groom’s relatives said in the video, “Gaza loves life and adores life. Gaza, the city of pride, will not break and will not kneel except to Allah Almighty. In your name, we all say to our dear groom, who insisted on taking on this life, a thousand congratulations.”

The Israeli war on Gaza

The Israeli occupation continues its heinous crimes against innocent civilians in various parts of the Gaza Strip, through the bombing of residential neighborhoods, homes, schools, churches, and even hospitals, without prior warning.

More than 1.8 million Palestinians have been forced to evacuate from the northern, southern, and central areas to the southern part of Gaza, under the intense and indiscriminate shelling by the Israeli military vehicles on Gaza.

It is worth noting that the toll of the Israeli war on Gaza has reached more than 22,000 Palestinians, the majority of whom are civilians, including children, women, and the elderly. Additionally, over 57,000 others have been injured, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza.
