“Our trust has been with you, Baba… Baba, we have no one but you.”

These were the words of Wael El Dahdouh‘s daughter as she embraced her father in a sorrowful and poignant scene during the farewell to her brother Hamza. This comes after the loss of her mother, brother, sister, nephew, and several other family members and relatives in an airstrike on their home in the Nuseirat refugee camp in the midst of the Gaza Strip.

Hamza, the firstborn son of Wael El Dahdouh, was martyred in an Israeli occupation targeting of a civilian car he was traveling in with his colleague Mustafa Thariya in the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip. They were heading to cover one of the Israeli occupation’s massacres in the area.

The Israeli occupation continues its heinous crimes of extermination, cleansing, and forced displacement against innocent civilians in various areas of the Gaza Strip. This includes the indiscriminate and violent shelling of residential neighborhoods, homes, schools, hospitals, and even churches, all without prior warning.

More than 22,000 Palestinian martyrs have fallen, the majority of whom were civilians, including children and women. Additionally, around 58,000 others have been wounded in various ways, according to the latest statistics from the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza.
